Position Summary: Grower Relations Representative for the Boisset Collection serves as a primary interface with contract growers contributing grapes to the various wineries/brands in California.
Essential Functions:
 Sustain relationships with existing contract growers and cultivate relationships with new growers as needs of wineries/brands dictate.
 Identify new vineyard sources in conjunction with pricing and quality goals, fulfilling varietals demands, securing high-quality sites and capitalizing on the spot market.
 Implement quality improvement strategies and communicate company values related to sustainable, organic & Biodynamic® farming practices to contract growers.
 Scout contract vineyards in adherence with established schedule to ensure compliance with quality parameters.
 Collect and compile viticultural data related to contract vineyards including phenology, yield, maturity, etc.
 Monitor and document performance of contract growers using winery database software.
 Develop crop estimates for harvest planning purposes at various wineries and custom crush facilities.
 Assess conditions of grape market continuously and relay information to counterparts on the production/winemaking teams.
 Assist with negotiation, drafting and processing of grape contracts.
 Input contractual information into winery database software and maintain consistent records to ensure on-going accuracy.
 Oversee scheduling of harvest, dissemination of delivery tags and coordination of grape deliveries to various wineries and custom crush facilities.
 Assist in and supervising viticultural technician and hiring and supervising seasonal maturity samplers.
 Collaborate with accounting team to ensure fluidity of grower compensation process.
 Create reports on an as-needed basis for use by management, winemaking and accounting teams.
 Grade contract growers annually using existing performance matrix.
 Serve as ambassador for various wineries/brands by participating in industry related groups, educating hospitality and sales staff members and interacting with distributors and consumers.
 Take-on additional projects as directed by supervisors.

 Comply with all company safety policies, practices, and procedures. Participate in safety training and report all unsafe conditions or work practices.
Necessary Skills:Language:
 Ability to speak and understand English required for position.
 Ability to read and interpret documents such as memos, instructions, policies and manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to present information effectively to groups of customers and/or employees, and participate in one-on-one and small group situations.
Math:
 Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately, using standard American units of currency, weight, volume, and/or distance. Ability to recognize and correct inaccuracies when using calculator or computer spreadsheet.
Logic:
 Ability to apply common sense understanding to multiple tasks, analyze and solve practical problems, prioritize and delegate tasks and projects, work both independently and as part of a team, and adapt to frequent changes in the work environment.
Computer:
 Possess basic computer skills and familiarity with software programs such as word processing, spreadsheets and winery software.
Education, Experience, Certificates, Licenses:
 Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university
 Current, valid Driver’s License, insurable driving record.
Physical Requirements:
 Heavy physical activity performing regular strenuous activities, including standing, walking, climbing, reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling, squatting, and other motions. Stability and balance adequate for navigating inclines, declines and uneven terrain. Requires lifting and moving some objects. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach, grasp, hold, handle items, and work with the fingers, wrists, elbows, and shoulders. Clear vision (close and distant), peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus. Hearing adequate for working safety around machinery, vehicles, and other equipment.
Work Environment
 Outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions, such as cold, fog, rain, heat, dust, wind, sun, etc. Periodic work in shop environment with fumes, lubricants and/or fuels. Moderate to high noise levels typical of farm equipment and tools. Exposure to agricultural chemicals and materials. (Note: PPE provided for all workers. Shaded rest areas, water, portable toilets, and all other required accommodations provided.)
