This is a part-time independent contractor positionthat requires someone who is professional, comfortable working around cannabis,has HPLC experience, and is a team player. We are looking for dedicated individuals with a positive and friendly attitude to join our team.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
-COMPLETED a Bachelor's in Chemistry from an accredited college or university
REQUIRED:
-Prior experience working in a laboratory environment (1-2 years)
-Experience with HPLC, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair (At least 1-2 years with HPLC)
-Located within the state of Oregon/reasonable proximity to lab and able to come in for an interview
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Learn and execute established SOPs.
- Prepare and analyze samples of plant, concentrate, and edible products.
- Weighing out samples, performing chemical extraction, dilution of volatile solvents for High Performance Liquid Chromatography analysis.
- Analytical work involves data interpretation for purposes of determining cannabinoid potency.
- Processing high sample throughput.
- Monitor instrument performance and diagnose performance issues.
- Prepare and review reports, work with the Laboratory Manager and Director to perform experiments and method validations.
- Utilize Laboratory Inventory Management System and other sample reporting.
- Comply with Quality Assurance program and other company policies.
- Adhere to safety standards and employ Good Laboratory Practices.
- Preparing standards and solvents.
- Labeling and logging of samples & standards used.
- Conduct laboratory investigations, experiments and/or research activities, and prepare analyses of findings using a variety of statistical methods.
- Assist in the security and cleanliness of laboratory and equipment.
- Ensure availability of laboratory materials.
- Sample disposal / proper chemical waste disposal.
- Other laboratory and clerical duties such as data entry, filing, or supply inventory may be assigned by lab staff as needed.
- Filing completed test data and reports.
- Reporting to the laboratory director & laboratory manager.
- Conducting in-lab sampling intakes as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Previous experience working in an accredited laboratory environment and/or in the cannabis industry is a plus.
- Previous experience with LIMS
- Well versed in Excel and other Microsoft Office software
- Understanding and following verbal and written instructions; work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized, critical eye for optimizing workflows.
- Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task, effectively manage changing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
- Must be able to work independently and strongly with a team.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignments.
- Must have good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and dependability toward assigned tasks and duties.
- Accredited laboratory environment requires strict adherence to safety and quality assurance protocols.
- Making mathematical calculations quickly and accurately
- Must be 21 years old
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
