This is a independent contractor position that requires someone who has LC/MS and GC/MS experience. The individual must be professional, comfortable working around cannabis, have at least 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting. We are looking for dedicated individuals with a positive and friendly attitude to join our team.
REQUIRED:
-Completed Bachelor's in Chemistry from an accredited college or university
-Prior experience working in a laboratory environment (2+ years)
-Experience with GC/MS and LC/MS, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair (1-2 years)
-Located within reasonable proximity to lab in order to come in for an interview within a week
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Learn and execute established SOPs.
- Prepare and analyze samples of plant, extracts, and concentrates.
- Weighing out samples, performing chemical extraction, dilution of volatile solvents
- Analytical work involves data interpretation for purposes of determining presence of pesticide residues.
- Processing high sample throughput.
- Create method validation reports.
- Monitor instrument performance and diagnose performance issues.
- Prepare and review reports, work with the Laboratory Manager and Director to perform experiments and method validations.
- Utilize LIMS and other sample reporting.
- Comply with Quality Assurance program and company policies.
- Adhere to safety standards and employ GLP
- Prepare standards and solvents.
- Labeling and logging of samples & standards used.
- Conduct laboratory investigations, experiments and/or research activities.
- Prepare analyses of findings using a variety of statistical methods.
- Assist in the security and cleanliness of laboratory and equipment; ensure availability of laboratory materials.
- Sample disposal / proper chemical waste disposal.
- Cleaning sample cups.
- Reporting to the laboratory director.
- Conducting in-lab sampling intakes as needed.
- Other laboratory and clerical duties such as data entry, filing, or supply inventory may be assigned by lab staff as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Previous experience working in an accredited laboratory environment and/or in the cannabis industry is a plus.
- Previous experience with LIMS
- Understanding and following verbal and written instructions; work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized, critical eye for optimizing workflows
- Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task, effectively manage changing priorities and remain calm under pressure
- Must be able to work independently and strongly with a team
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignments
- Must have good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills
- Demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and dependability toward assigned tasks and duties
- Accredited laboratory environment requires strict adherence to safety and quality assurance protocols.
- Experienced with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
