The Packaging crew is an important part of the Cannabis production process. We are seeking strong candidates to lead our crew for now and the future. We are a rapidly growing company and want to bring in the best crew to be the final line of quality assurance for our high-quality concentrates. Other positions in cultivation and the lab will also become available in the near future.

Hayat Labs is a new Michigan cannabis cultivation and processing company, based in HazelPark, MI.We produce the highest quality indoor cannabis flower and extracted products in a state-of-the-art, automated and energy efficient facility. This job requires extreme attention to detail, consistency and a safety mindset.
The Extraction Manager is responsible and accountable for the entire Processing/Extraction Lab.Coordinates with production schedules and Cure/Vault regarding product inventory and availability. The Extraction Manager journals, monitors and tracks all observations in the company’s software seed to sale tracking system.
- Planning and organizing production schedules.
- Follow Policies & Procedures for the daily operations and fully comply with state medical marijuana regulations
- Maintains testing and formulating operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational policies and procedures
- Perform QA/QC through analytical testing for quality, consistency and efficacy
- Work closely with production team on all elements of the testing and formulating process
- Design extraction trials and experiments to optimize extraction purity and efficiency.
- Develop new extraction and purification techniques. Keep abreast of developments in the industry.
- Master various techniques for marijuana extraction and infusion, including butane extraction
- Develop expertise in testing and formulating methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis
- Responsible for inventory, record keeping and quality of product at all times, maintaining inventory via seed to sale tracking.
- Responsible for coordinating Waste Disposal of extraction waste and product return waste.
- Facilitates and coordinates the operational requirements between in the production workflow
- Responsible for accurately weighing and recording all product weights
- Works in a timely manner and strives to improve quality and maintain accuracy
- Make sure that all concentrates are packaged, counted, sorted and labeled accurately
- Manages day to day issues as they arise, requesting assistance as needed
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
- Master’s Degree, preferably in chemistry or similar field
- 3-5 years of experience in related position with an emphasis in an operations production/manufacturing environment
- Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope production activities, both operations and analysis
- Experience with analytical testing required
- Experience in various cannabis testing or formulation methods preferred
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and multitasking skills
- Ability to interact professionally at all times, leading by example
- Manage a controlled workflow in a fast-paced environment
- Strong math and computer skills, including ability to create and interpret data.
- Knowledge of management and organizational concepts, principles, and techniques with demonstrated expertise in research administration.
- Excellent critical thinking skills to be able to troubleshoot any issue with the processes and instrumentation.
- Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing project needs in evolving situations
- Experience with Precision Extraction equipment preferred
- Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and the ability to lead an effective and efficient meeting.
- Excellent crisis manager who demonstrates that he/she has a high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead his/her personnel to a successful resolution.
- Excellent employee relations skills including being an active listener, understanding how to appraise personnel, applying both positive and corrective feedback, being able to resolve conflicts either involving the supervisor directly or as a third party, understands and demonstrates positive motivational skills including coaching and delegation techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing environment; direct management of 30+ individuals in a manufacturing setting required
- Bachelor's/Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or similar preferred
- Prior Cannabis, CPG and/or Startup experience desirable
- In-depth knowledge & understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, certifications a plus
