Gallery Media Group is looking for an entry level writer/podcast contributor to join the ONE37pm team full-time for a fixed term residency as our News and Culture podcast resident.
A rapidly growing digital media company, Gallery Media Group includes women's lifestyle brand, PureWow, which is dedicated to making a woman's life more beautiful, manageable, and efficient; ONE37pm, a men's lifestyle brand at the intersection of culture, style, music and sports, seen through the lens of entrepreneurship; and a collection of premium podcast shows that includes the GaryVee Audio Experience, Mom Brain, Royally Obsessed and The CMO Podcast with Jim Stengel. The ideal candidate for this role would be looking to kick start a career in digital publishing/content creation.
Working directly with our editors, you will be responsible for contributing to ONE37pm's forthcoming "7:31AM" podcast, a daily culture/news podcast which will cover all of the biggest current events in our verticals: sports cards, sports gambling, TV and movies, skateboarding, streetwear, cannabis, sports, esports, hip hop, MMA, NFT / Crypto, and more. You will be responsible for editing/contributing to a daily script and attending nightly recordings, in addition to assisting with social and editorial promotion of the podcast.
We are looking for somebody who lives and breathes news, culture, and everything in between. They should be passionate about social content creation and are a strong writer, as well as be comfortable behind a microphone. The position will be working remotely, with a view to potentially join the team in our Hudson Yards office when the climate allows.
Responsibilities:
- Write/edit the script for the daily podcast, based on pitches from the internal team and our audience.
- Attend/read for daily podcast recordings.
- Monitor current events/social media to source and react to breaking news.
- Assist the social media team with promotion and distribution of the podcast and assets.
- Help with content creation and ideation in other areas as needed.
Skills and experience:
- You are a reliable, motivated, self-sufficient and fast worker
- Solid writing/editing skills and an eye for a great story
- Deep knowledge and understanding of internet culture
- Creative thinking and has tons of ideas
- Relevant internship experience (at a digital publisher or agency) is preferred
- Experience with CMS, SEO, social listening tools and/or analytics platforms is a bonus
- Experience with social management is a bonus
- Podcasting experience is a plus
- Willingness to work unorthodox hours, evenings and some weekends

The ideal candidate for this role would have a few years of experience in the editorial or journalism field with a proven track record of conducting strong interviews as well as possessing a sharp writing style.
Working directly with our editors, you will be responsible for pitching and writing long-form features that span all of ONE37pm's verticals—sports cards, sports gambling, TV & movies, skateboarding, sneakers, fitness, streetwear, cannabis, proper football, esports, hip hop, basketball, MMA, NFT / Crypto, and more—with a focus on culture and how it intersects with entrepreneurship.
We are looking for somebody who lives and breathes news, culture, and social media and has impressive examples of their own written work to show for it.
You will be working remotely, with a view to potentially join the team in our New York office when the climate allows.
Responsibilities:
- Pitching and writing bi-monthly long-form feature stories (4000+ word counts) for ONE37pm
- Conduct interviews with approved subjects
- Work with editors, editorial assistants to research and fact check stories
- Ideating content strategy surrounding the stories, i.e. social media promotion, potential video content, etc.
- Work closely with ONE37pm's social media team, designers, and video editors to create content based on profiles.
- Contribute other written pieces and stories when needed.
Background:
- Meaningful / substantial experience in the editorial and/or journalism field.
- Experienced and comfortable with interviewing subjects, adhering to journalistic ethics and standards.
- Possesses a strong writing style with an expert grasp of spelling, grammar, and has an eye for copy-editing
- Experience with CMS, SEO, social listening tools, and/or analytics platforms is a bonus
- Deep knowledge and understanding of internet culture
