Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the department's personnel, service, cost, and quality performance, and promote the best operational performance
- Supervise the central call center and delivery location
- Manage more than 30 employees and fleet supervisors in surrounding stores.
- Plan delivery and scheduling arrangements
- Develop work schedules for all dispatchers, fleets and drivers
- Provide leadership and guidance to the scheduling and delivery leadership team
- Hire and train employees; plan, assign and direct work; evaluate performance; reward and discipline employees; handle complaints and resolve problems
- Provide consultation, record and disciplinary actions with the human resources director when necessary
- Open communication with store managers to ensure consistency and consistent information transfer between delivery and store
- Oversee daily business and profit and loss to ensure the profitability of each entity
- Train employees to become leaders to effectively supervise the daily work of the crew assigned to them
- Liaison and network with other business departments (such as marketing, human resources and various managers)
- Provide leadership for delivery and dispatch teams, ensure that individuals are actively involved, and are committed to operating as a high-performance and fully responsible team
- Lead operations and administrative management teams to run an effective, dynamic, process-driven and results-oriented warehouse network.
- Ensure that the delivery and dispatch department provides the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers and customers throughout the distribution process
- Comply with all roles and responsibilities assigned and implemented by the Delivery and Distribution Director
- Comply with and implement the organization's policies, procedures and applicable federal/state laws (BCC delivery regulations)
- Participate in all company manager meetings and communicate appropriate information to the team as needed
- Ensure that all driver logs are maintained and appropriately archived in a timely manner as required by senior management
- Review driver mileage
- Review and approve the attendance card for the bi-weekly payroll finals (payroll system such as gusto)
- Conduct monthly self-audits and deal with action items
- Ensure that employees in all departments comply with all company standards and safety policies
- Assist other departments as needed or requested
- Ensure friendly, efficient and professional customer service
- Monitor operations/office supplies daily and report requirements to necessary team members
- Ability to commute to multiple delivery locations without any restrictions
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Ability to solve problems through excellent communication
- Must be highly organized
Qualifications, skills and attitudes:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Two years of experience in high-volume retail stores
- Knowledge of cannabis operations
- Previous experience working in a fleet environment
- Current POS and e-commerce experience
- Cash handling experience
- Experience in navigating programs/applications
- Microsoft Office experience is a plus
- Must have intermediate computer skills; be able to enter and access information in company delivery and timing systems
- Must have a hands-on and proactive management style. Must be willing to perform line-level or supervisor duties during busy periods when absenteeism is required or supported
- Must be motivated with a proactive, team-oriented attitude. This role requires strong leadership skills, able to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Ability to perform all job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and organize
- Ability to stay calm and solve problems while using good judgment
- Lead by example and ensure that the team executes the game plan developed for them
- Understand guest service needs
- Business acumen and ability to manage profit and loss.
