The Pre-Roll & Vape Processing Technician is responsible for manicuring and packaging plant material and infused products. In this role, maintaining accuracy in weighing product, fulfilling product, labelling, and inventory is paramount. The Pre-Roll & Vape Processing Technician is also responsible for maintaining a perpetually clean workspace to provide a sterile environment for production of medical products. This person will also have some responsibility for tracking product on the company system to ensure compliance with state laws and program regulations. Skills, Abilities & Essential Duties:
- Immediate management and support of recruiting and hiring for a startup company
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Assists in managing HRIS system for entity
- Coordinate New Hire Orientation and employee onboarding with management
- Work with the Director and other high-level managers to develop employee training program
- Ensure compliance with both state and federal labor laws and regulations as needed
- Implements and monitors employee performance evaluation program with the assistance from the Director and other high-level managers
- Can work directly with other staff members to foster a team environment
- Works closely with the accounting department and the Director to successfully carry out employee payroll
- Manages vacation, sick, personal day, and holiday use into HRIS/payroll system
- Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans and reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes
- Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action
- Coaches, counsels, and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions
- Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices with the assistance of the Director, of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary
- Acts as an employee relations specialist and a liaison for employees with assistant of Director
- Ensures accurate and meaningful communication to employees of the company
- Updates, monitors, and maintains eligible salary adjustments/increases based on performance review schedule
- Assists Director of Human Resources to report, maintain, and monitor all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases
- Develops and coordinates employee recognition programs
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict free workplace
- Administer employee leaves (FMLA, personal, etc.) and keep constant communication while employee is out and maintain compliance with paperwork
- Implement additional HR policies as needed
- Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information and recommending courses of action to the Director
- Conduct workplace investigations when needed

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The position also necessitates that the staff member be on site in a cannabis cultivation facility where they can be exposed to pollen, allergens, and chemical pesticides at the facility. As well as fumes, dust, odors, extreme heat temperatures, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, noise, protective gear, vibrations, and water.

Position Summary:
This position supervises a team of IPM Technicians and is responsible for organizing activities based on assignment and priority. The IPM Supervisor is responsible for coordinating with the Director of Cultivation, Operations Managers and/or Supervisors to schedule pesticide applications and other IPM activities. 
Education & Experience
Formal Education and Experience or Equivalent:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Entomology, Plant Pathology, Horticulture, Agriculture, Agronomy, or another related field is required 
- Experience applying pesticides is required 
- Experience troubleshooting and/or repairing mechanical systems (i.e. pumps, motors) is preferred 
- Experience cultivating cannabis is preferred 
- Able to obtain state credentials to work in cannabis cultivation facility   
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation 
- Ability to operate standard office equipment 
- Good verbal and written communication skills 
Competencies, Specialized Skills or Knowledge unique to this role:
- Advanced knowledge of and adherence to State and Federal pesticide regulations 
- Advanced knowledge of IPM principles 
- Ability to understand and abide by pesticide labelling 
- Ability to detect and identify pests and pathogens as well as contributing factors to their development 
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks and manage time, considering facility schedules and needs

- Candidates must possess a Qualified Supervisor level (or state equivalent) commercial pesticide applicator licensing or be able to obtain it within 60 days of hire.

Skills, Abilities & Essential Duties:
- Schedules and delegates to IPM Technicians to complete all assigned tasks 
- Oversees Technicians’ time clock activity 
- Provides weekly application prescriptions for each facility serviced based on pest pressure, cultivation scheduling, plant health, and site-specific strategies 
- Provides on-the-job training and developmental guidance to IPM Technicians 
- Conducts performance reviews of IPM Technicians 
- Provides disciplinary action as needed following consultation with IPM Manager and/or Specialist 
- Coordinates with Operations Managers, Specialists, and/or Supervisors to ensure pesticide applications take place with minimal impact to plant health and cultivation scheduling 
- Ensures facility infrastructure, Cultivation Staff, and IPM staff adhere to: Company Policies, Worker Protection Standard, Pesticide Labels, and Federal, State, and local pesticide laws 
- Maintains on-site (physical) and commercial (digital) pesticide application records 
- Maintains inventory of IPM Supplies (pesticides, equipment, PPE, adjuvants, etc.), including maintaining up to date inventory records and placing orders 
- Reports to Director of Cultivation and/or Specialist as needed or directed 
- Distributes biological controls 
- Identifies and scouts for pests 
- Maintains/cleans IPM equipment and infrastructure 
- Participates in IPM related cultivation tasks 
- Participates in other IPM projects as directed, including R&D 
- Assists with WPS Worker Pesticide Safety Training as needed 
- Ensure compliance to Federal, State, and company regulations, policies, and procedures always
