Analytical Chemist Job Description for a GMP Laboratory
We are expanding and seeking a qualified team member to join our labs. You will be working with existing scientists, and/or possibly new business opportunities. This is your chance to join a company in an industry that is experiencing growth to include cannabinoid analysis soon.
The candidate for this role should be well-versed in a broad range of analytical testing techniques such as, ICP/MS, GC/MS and LC-MS/MS.
Duties will include.
- Method Development, Validation, and Compendia Method Qualification.
- Analysis of samples using ICP/MS, GC/MS/FID with headspace sampling, and HPLC/GPC.
- May develop and validate methods for cannabis contaminant tests: solvents and pesticides
- May develop and validate methods for THC potency tests by HPLC
- FTIR-ATR, FTIR-KBR, UV-VIS, and other Compendia Tests.
- Benchtop enzymatic digestion and detection assays.
- Sample preparation, sample handling, GMP documentation and reporting.
- Assist Lab Scientists in optimization of chemical assays and general workflow improvements
- Troubleshooting instrumentation
- Technical and Content Data Review of processed GMP data packages.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Working in Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceuticals, GMP, or ISO accredited environment
- Familiarity with Cannabis and Cannabis products is preferred but not required.
- Strong report writing and GMP technical data review skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude
- Necessary experience to operate some or all instruments.
Work Location:
- One location
- Hours are between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm M-F
- Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or closely related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Chemist, Biochemist, or Scientist in a regulated pharmaceutical field (USP).
- Good understanding of FDA Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls.
- Skills:
- Possess excellent communication skills for liaising with internal departments.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate understanding of good analytical techniques.
- Expertise in data interpretation and identification tests.
- Ability to handle fine glassware, sampling devices and perform data entry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
