Summary:
Cannabis Carte is currently seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, passionate, engaging, and outgoing Budtender to serve in the social consumption, events, and marketing industries.
Cannabis Carte LLC currently operates within the following regions:
· Pennsylvania (South-Central and South-East Regions) – Medicinal-Use Only
· Maryland (Central & Capitol Regions) – Medicinal-Use Only
· Washington D.C. – Medicinal & Adult-Use
Note: Due to Covid-19 restrictions and the current legislative environment in our service area, this position is on a part-time, as-needed basis. As restrictions are lifted, legislation evolves, and business expands, this position will transition into full-time.
Responsibilities:
· Represent Cannabis Carte and our clients’ brand, image, and mission within the cannabis, commercial, and event industries.
· Adapt and create various marketing and aesthetic tools according to project and client needs/requirements.
· Travel to various sites and venues based on event, client, and project requirements.
· Work directly with clients & consumers to advise and educate them on appropriate cannabis products, ancillary devices, dosing, and consumption methods based on needs, preferences, budgets, and desired effects.
· Inspect & verify appropriate consumer identification based on state and federal laws.
· Directly handle, dose, and operate cannabis products, ancillary devices (dab rigs, vaporizers, pipes, e-nails, etc.) and various methods of consumption (joints, edibles, topicals, etc.) and assist consumers during individual use in a social setting.
· Clean & sanitize equipment & ancillary devices per company guidelines, standards, and best practices.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
· Promote & exercise safe and responsible social consumption practices as outlined by the company.
· Design, setup & tear down displays, products and equipment based on event, client, and project requirements.
· Stay current with the latest developments within the industry concerning new strains, effects, products, grower-processors, dispensaries, brands, consumption methods/devices, laws & legislature, news, science, etc.
· Attend live events and trade shows to promote commercial and private client brands & services, including product launches and demonstrations.
· Work directly with commercial clients on developing and creating marketing and promotional campaigns to be applied in the real-world and digital media.
· Promote and create social media content based on project requirements.

Requirements:
· Must be 21+ with a valid state driver’s license.
· Must be able to pass a background check.
· Thorough understanding of applicable federal, sate and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedure.
· Extensive knowledge pertaining to the cannabis industry; strains, terpenes, effects, products, grower-processors, dispensaries, brands, consumption methods/devices, laws & legislature, news, etc.
· Effectively be able to identify the symptoms and signs of cannabis consumption and over-consumption.
· Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations including weekend, evening, night, and holiday shifts.
· Must have reliable transportation and be able to accommodate traveling requirements.
· Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with an understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and how they operate.
· Ability to work independently and without supervision.
· Punctual and reliable with excellent attendance.
· Detail oriented.
· Effective marketing skills.
· Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong attention to detail and a team-player mentality.

Education:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
*Budtending and/or Dispensary training/certification is preferred, but not required.
Experience:
Previous experience within the cannabis industry, marketing, and/or event planning is preferred but is not required.
· Customer Service: 1 – 2 years (Required)
· Budtending: 1 year (Preferred but is not required)
· Marketing: 1 year (Preferred but is not required)
· Event Panning: 1 year (Preferred but is not required)
Compensation:
· $18.00+ per hour (depending on experience)
***This is a part-time, as-needed, independent contractor position with potential to transition into full-time.

Work Environment:
· This position operates within the cannabis, commercial, events, and marketing industries. Environments may include dispensaries, grower-processor facilities, product launches, corporate events, trade shows, private clubs, concert halls, stadiums, festivals, private events, weddings, studios, etc.
· This role requires regular handling of cannabis/cannabis derivatives and operating ancillary devices/equipment.
· This role also requires regular handling and exposure of solvents, disinfectants, cleaners, and solutions.
Physical and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. This position requires regular travel to and from project locations. The employee must occasionally move objects weighing up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close observation, ability to focus, and spatial awareness. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual, with or without reasonable accommodation, to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
