We are currently recruiting for an Interdisciplinary Regulatory Research Scientist in our Population Science department in Richmond, VA, or we are open to remote work arrangements.
Situated within Regulatory Affairs, the Population Science department’s role is to evaluate the impact of tobacco and cannabis product use in the population to advance regulatory and harm reduction efforts. At its core, the Population Science department studies and disseminates information about the impact of tobacco products and cannabis on population health, including users and nonusers of such products.
The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of various research methods, be highly skilled in data management and statistical analysis, have demonstrable experience with literature review and meta-analysis, and have excellent project management and communication (written and verbal) skills.
In this role, you will:
- Lead comprehensive and detailed literature reviews and meta-analyses, build reports, and engage internally and externally on the findings
- Apply established scientific principles to conduct secondary analyses of large international, national, and state-level survey data sets that address complex regulatory and policy issues
- Contribute directly to external scientific engagement through written communications, presentations at scientific meetings, and publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate in the design and execution of population-level research studies, including development of protocols, creation of surveys, evaluation of statistical analysis plans, analysis and interpretation of data and findings, and review of study reports
- Manage research projects and supplier (e.g., contract research organization) relationships
- Work flexibly within a high-energy, hard-working team of scientists
What we want you to have:
- Masters or PhD in Experimental or Quantitative Psychology, Quantitative Methods, Survey Methods and Statistics, Epidemiology or related fields
- 5+ years’ experience designing research surveys, analyzing large survey data sets and conducting literature reviews
- Experience with cannabis research or research in international markets is a plus
- Proficient in SAS, Stata, or R data analysis packages; experience with other data packages (e.g., SPSS) is a plus
- Ability to compare data across various datasets
- Ability to design analyses to assess policy outcomes (background in health policy and economics is a plus)
- Demonstrably strong oral and written communications skills
- Ability to think critically and attend to details

- Fabricate, assemble, install, repair and inspect parts and equipment
- Use highly developed sheet metal fabrication skills to sketch, layout, and fabricate various parts, guards and sheet metal fittings
- Set up and operate shop equipment, and use a wide variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, and will work effectively in a high output, multi-craft manufacturing environment
- Participate in cross-functional teams to identify problems and opportunities, and to develop and implement solutions
For this position, we are seeking highly motivated, experienced and accountable individuals who can work in an industrial, unionized environment.
Qualified candidates will:
- Be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the U.S. and for Philip Morris USA
- Be willing to work on any shift and to work overtime, weekends and holidays on a regular basis
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of journeyman-level job-related experience in the Sheet Metal craft, preferably with both shop and field experience
- Have completed an apprenticeship or journeymans card, technical school, or equivalent military technical training
- Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment is also preferred
The starting wage for these positions is $35.70 per hour and additional compensation may be available through our manufacturing incentive program.

We are seeking an Associate Planner Inventoryto join our team at US Smokeless Tobacco in Nashville, TN. You will review and approve the entry of SAP and JDA (Warehouse Management System) transactions, which includes cycle counts for finished goods and direct materials, production systems reporting, case traceability, and transfer of materials and finished goods between facilities.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Conduct regular physical counts for direct materials and verify system(s) accuracy and make system adjustments as needed
Verify consistency between SAP and production systems reporting. Review and inquire for large variances on daily transaction reports. This includes documentation of case trace codes.
Collaborate with external customers to balance transfers and receipts between facilities, research large dollar inventory variances, maintain consistency across inventory control practices, and provide guidance with SAP and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) destruction requirements as needed.
Collaborate with internal customers to identify and research inventory variances, verify lot dates and expirations associated, coordinate product destruction and third-party shipments, validate systems reporting accuracy, and determine production and transition dates for new packaging work orders as well as process obsolete material write-offs.
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley pertaining to the monthly inventory count log.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the leader for our seed program by scheduling, coordinating, and tracking all tobacco fermentation seed cures throughout their usable life. You will use knowledge of pertinent data to analyze and report out to plant leadership, Research and Development, and management.
- Lead the weekly cross functional seed cure review meetings with the Research and Development team, Product Development, and specialists across the business.
- You will use your expert technical knowledge and lab experience to conduct PCR, media prep, plating, counting, sample collection.
- You will be responsible for providing direction and coordinating the work of assigned in-house contract personnel
- You will work in a team environment, collaborating with various internal partners to accomplish business goals
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in Microbiology with 5+ years applicable industrial experience.

U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Companys role is to responsibly manufacture and market USSTC smokeless brands to adult tobacco consumers in a financially disciplined way. We are currently seeking highly qualified Associate Production Operators to join our plant based in Hopkinsville, KY or Clarksville, TN.
You will be supporting high speed production operations, as well as ongoing efforts to embrace high performance work systems.
What will you be doing?
You are responsible for operating and maintaining specific equipment throughout the facility, including sanitation and housekeeping of production lines and equipment and maintaining the facility in accordance with company policies and procedures and/or production requirements.
You are able to easily move about an industrial facility, including but not limited to, working in tight or confined spaces, working at higher elevations, climbing on machinery, working in a dusty environment; majority of shift will be spent cleaning in plant (walking, stooping, bending, climbing, operating lift equipment, forklift, clamp machine, etc.).
You should be able to perform some lifting (usually not over 40 pounds).
You will need to handle pressure associated with the need to maintain a facility which is dusty by nature in compliance with CC&S standards.
You have the ability to understand and carry out verbal instructions.
You can operate electric lift equipment, forklift and pallet truck.
Previous manufacturing/factory experience is helpful.

U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company’s role is to responsibly manufacture and market USSTC smokeless brands to adult tobacco consumers in a financially disciplined way. We are currently seeking highly qualified Associate Production Operators to join our plant based in Hopkinsville, KY or Clarksville, TN.
You will be supporting high speed production operations, as well as ongoing efforts to embrace high performance work systems.
What will you be doing?
You are responsible for operating and maintaining specific equipment throughout the facility, including sanitation and housekeeping of production lines and equipment and maintaining the facility in accordance with company policies and procedures and/or production requirements.
- You are able to easily move about an industrial facility, including but not limited to, working in tight or confined spaces, working at higher elevations, climbing on machinery, working in a dusty environment; majority of shift will be spent cleaning in plant (walking, stooping, bending, climbing, operating lift equipment, forklift, clamp machine, etc.).
- You should be able to perform some lifting (usually not over 40 pounds).
- You will need to handle pressure associated with the need to maintain a facility which is dusty by nature in compliance with CC&S standards.
- You have the ability to understand and carry out verbal instructions.
- You can operate electric lift equipment, forklift and pallet truck.
- Previous manufacturing/factory experience is helpful.
What does your background and experience look like?
You will be expected to ensure the safe, continuous, effective and efficient operation of the assigned production or sanitation equipment:
- You must be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the U.S. and for USSTC, and be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays. You are also able to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift
- You have the ability to work as part of a team with other employees of all levels
- You can operate manufacturing equipment
- You are able to sanitize manufacturing equipment

Spend the summer working horses and riding trails at our 18,000 acre ranch in Montana! If you have a strong western equestrian background, experience wrangling horses, and the skill and confidence to train others how to ride, then we have an amazing opportunity for you! We are currently seeking Seasonal Wranglers to join our Crazy Mountain Ranch in Clyde Park, MT, for the 2020 Season which runs May through mid-September.
What will you be doing. You will be:
- Preparing horses for trail rides and horse related activities, such as wrangling, grooming, bridling, saddling, training horses, driving teams and general ranch chores
- Instructing guests on basic horsemanship, assisting guests onto horses, guiding them on rides and conversing about the horses, the Ranch and local flora and fauna to providing an outstanding guest experience
- Assisting in pre-season and continuous assessments and maintenance to ranch standards; of horses, tack, equipment, barn, corrals, trails and pastures and fences
- Assisting in daily herd health management and identify injuries or soundness issues prior to selecting horses for activities. Assisting in basic veterinary care and farrier work as needed.
- Focusing on the safety of guests, self, co-workers and livestock while executing daily job duties
- You may harness and drive teams of draft horses to transport groups of guests to various activity locations
- Assisting with dispatching rides and assigning horses as needed
- Participating in and following all health and safety standards, regulations, and policies
- Completing other duties as assigned
What does your background and experience look like? You have:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic horsemanship knowledge (behavior, safety, and control) on and off the horse
- Basic horse care knowledge (injuries, illness, nutrition, soundness and hoof care issues)
- Ability to catch, halter, saddle, bridle and ride horses
- Effective communication, safety and customer service skills
- You are a great teammate who demonstrates good communication, interpersonal and collaborative leadership skills
- General ranch maintenance skills such as fencing and equipment operation
- 3+ years of guest ranch, ranch or guiding experience along with hospitality experience preferred
- A valid driver’s license and are 21 years of age or older
- Ability to complete the Ranch’s CHA seasonal equestrian staff certification, team driving training, and First Aid/CPR training
- Ability to get on and off a horse from the ground with ease and work from the saddle and/or the ground for up to 10 hours
- Ability to carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds for short distances and lift from floor to shoulder height up to 65 pounds
- Ability to work while squatting, bending and/or twisting for up to 3 minutes at a time.

Assist teams in identifying areas for improvement and developing/implementing solutions - Document project work in formal reports and present findings/recommendations to senior management upon internship completion
Note: Parallel Co-op participants will work on a part-time basis during the school year while attending classes. The typical work week for a Parallel Co-op is approximately 15-20 hours.

To qualify for the summer intern program, student applicants must be:
- Rising juniors or seniors (or equivalent earned credits) in good academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA preferred)
- Pursuing relevant undergraduate Engineering or Technology degree programs (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer, Environmental/Safety Engineering, Business or Systems Technology; Operations and Supply Chain)
- Strong communicators with strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills and demonstrated leadership initiative
- Preferably experienced in work related to academic discipline

Job Description:
Altria Group Distribution Company is currently seeking a qualified Territory Sales Manager to join our Field Sales Force. As a Territory Sales Manager with Altria, youll have the opportunity to influence our industry in our ever-changing landscape. The hardworking diverse leaders we seek are responsible for handling an assigned sales territory, averaging $15 million in annual revenue, comprised of approximately 130 established retail accounts in a non-commission sales environment. Upon completion of our comprehensive and hands-on sales training program, Territory Sales Managers will be challenged and empowered to:
- Handle sales and distribution within a given geography, including merchandising as needed
- Responsibly sell company initiatives to retail partners including: promotions, new brands, inventory management and pricing strategies
- Consult, advise and engage with retail partners on category management and business analytics to help improve the performance of their business
- Develop innovative ways to improve business performance though data analysis, brand marketing, product placement and purposeful planning
- Develop and utilize systems to track, measure and analyze progress against key marketing initiatives and other business metrics
- Grow leadership capability through ongoing comprehensive training and high impact experiences
Specific Skills:
- A Bachelors Degree or meaningful sales experience
- Ability to build sales plans and handle time effectively
- Ability to communicate ideas and concepts to influence business partners
- Collaborate well in a team environment and develop account relationships
- Utilize analytics to evaluate market opportunities and impact business performance
