The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory and ensuring its ongoing conformance with ISO/IEC 17025. This position is responsible for achieving optimum labor and least amount of overhead and formulating and recommending operational policies and programs which guide the laboratory in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the organization.
Education – Bachelor’s in a science or engineering discipline or in Operations Management, Business Management or equivalent and approximately 5 - 7 years previous operations management experience.

Essential Jon Functions:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management to a laboratory.
- Responsible for driving the laboratory to achieve business goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the objectives of the laboratory.
- Manage the operational and technical aspects of the laboratory processes.
- Manage and ensure adherence to the overall business budget.

- Maintain technical documents and publications.
- Act as an organizational representative through direct contact with external stakeholders.

Laboratory Experience: 1 year (Required)
The Extraction Technician plays a vital role in the successful operation of the manufacturing lab. This Extraction Technician will be responsible for the overnight operation of terpene extraction equipment, proper documentation of procedures, lab cleanup, and general troubleshooting and problem solving.
The Extraction Technician works under the supervision of the Lab Manager to ensure all tasks are executed effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate solventless terpene extraction, short path distillation, and rotary evaporator equipment for primary and secondary refinement of crude cannabis oil
- Operate, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on solventless terpene extraction, short path distillation, and rotary evaporator equipment
- Document information by creating and maintaining accurate batch records
- Navigate and operate Cannabis Tracking Systems (CTS’s) and execute common commands to accomplish tasks
- Ensure laboratory safety and ensure that the laboratory remains in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
- Actively participate in manufacturing meetings
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace in the laboratory
- Maintain glassware by picking up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing and organizing
- Assist management in daily manufacturing processes to assure that all goals and demands are met and exceeded as the lab scales into greater capabilities
Skill, Experience & Education:
- College education in STEM preferred, High School Education required
- 1-2 years of laboratory and/or related experience
- Knowledge of cannabis-based chemistry and manufacturing techniques
- Proficiency with Microsoft based programs
- Subject to background check per state cannabis regulations * Ability to troubleshoot process or equipment failures
- Familiarity with chemical and laboratory safety
- Able to work independently and within team environments to accomplish tasks
- Must be over 21 years of age

Laboratory Analyst
We have an exciting, opportunity for a Laboratory Analyst with a new start up in the cannabis industry. This position will consist of analytical testing, compliance testing, and quality assurance to help advance the legitimacy of the industry and enable consistent and safe consumer products.
Roles/Responsibilities
· Provide analytical support to analytical research team utilizing a variety of analytical equipment including GC/MS, GCMS/MS, LC, LCMS/MS, and ICPMS among other equipment types
· Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products.
· Perform QC sampling of materials and products
· Utilize pipette and syringe techniques for liquid measurement
· Calibrate and utilize analytical scales or balances for sample weight or mass determinations
· Follow sample chain-of-custody protocols
· Prepare reagents and standard solutions
· Diagnose analytical system problems and provide solutions as needed
· Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment as needed
· Perform system qualification and calibration of required equipment as needed
Job Qualification Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field
· Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Analytical Chemistry
· QA/QC Experience
· Knowledge of GC and LC operation with MS applications
· Experience with a variety of analytical software platforms with Waters Empower, Waters MassLynx, Agilent MassHunter experience a plus
