Job Summary
The Extraction Technician will be responsible for safely and effectively converting cannabis materials into high quality, food safe cannabis oils and liquids for ingestion, inhalation, or topical application.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performing job duties in a safe manner and environment while adhering to all regulations
- Carrying out all extraction, extract processing, product formulation, and manufacturing procedures in an efficient manner that also complies with state regulations, company SOP’s, and all applicable laboratory procedures
- Ensuring compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures
- Following appropriate control measures to prevent mixing of dissimilar production components while following Good Manufacturing Practices
- Performing in-process and post-process quality assurance, conducting visual inspections to ensure all products meet specifications and expectations. Such quality assurance work shall include but not be limited to:
- Recording and monitoring process conditions to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures
- Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking
- Continually strive to improve processes for improved safety, quality, and efficient manufacturing
- Support new product and process development work with our Extraction Lead, Extraction Supervisor and/or Production Manager
- Monitoring and managing lab and processing equipment supplies and inventory
Qualifications
One to Three years of applicable medical cannabis or related extraction, formulating, and packaging experience with a focus on ensuring product safety, consumer safety and satisfaction, and high product quality- Experience with closed loop Butane and CO2 extraction systems preferred, including large scale production sugar/ wax, live sugar/resin/wax, and shatter
- Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agencies
- Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies
- Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies

Work is performed in several locations that include a cannabis cultivation and production facility. Cannabis Packaging & Processing Specialist

The Packaging & Processing Specialist is responsible for manicuring and packaging plant material and infused products. In this role, maintaining accuracy in weighing product, fulfilling product, labeling, and inventory is paramount. The Packaging & Processing Specialist is also responsible for maintaining a perpetually clean workspace to provide a sterile environment for production of medical products. This person will also have some responsibility for tracking products electronically on the company MRP system to ensure compliance with state laws and program regulations. The ideal candidate has a relentlessly positive attitude, a strong work ethic, competitive and team-oriented spirit, and great attention to detail. Responsibilities
- Breakdown cured batches and extracted oil from the lab into multiple different weight increments (3.5 g, 7 g, ½ g and 1 g etc.) and package them accordingly
- Keep a precise count of all packaged product and weight(s) of product used for an accurate end of day reconciliation of packaged inventory and remaining inventory
- Package infused and plant material into proper containers with proper labeling to ensure compliance with state regulations
- Electronically convert packaged products in the state traceability system
- Exhibit competency in basic organizational skills, communication skills and windows based operating software
- Manage time efficiently in order to meet goals while consistently producing quality product
- Sanitation & cleanup of all processing areas throughout the day

Qualifications
- High School Education or GED required
- 1+ years working in production environment required

Volta Biotech is a marijuana/hemp processing and refinement company. We can extract 80 pounds every 20 minutes with ethanol - possibly the biggest capacity in the state. On the marijuana side we sell bulk THC distillate (voltabiotech.com). We're in a new building that is well maintained and well lit with security cameras for 24 hour monitoring.
Our capacity is 3 to 4 liters per hour. All of our sales are already committed to customers at current capacity and we're planning to add to our capacity in the next few months. We have some designs for retail products of our own but will take time to formulate the product itself - our focus is on bulk distillate. We do cryo ethanol extraction, decarboxylation, distillation, sonication, and spray drying processes. We also have an analytical HPLC to help with product formulation and verifying plant potency from farmers.
We need production minded personnel to handle the day-to-day production processes after some training. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who is comfortable on their feet working in the lab doing laboratory tasks most of the day. Familiarity with pumps, hoses, and connections is preferred. Cannabis experience is preferred. Comfortable on forklift is preferred.
The ideal candidate is an individual already experienced with cannabis processing, wants to work with larger equipment, and is excited to join our small 10 person team. Candidate must already be living in the Oklahoma City metro area to be eligible for this job.

POST PRODUCTION CANNABIS TECHNICIAN-TRIMMER
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Post Production Technician-Trimmer is primarily responsible for the efficiency and quality of cannabis plant during harvesting, drying, curing, and packaging. Efficiently bucks and trims plants. The right candidate demonstrates proficiency, organization, calmness, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment; is resourceful and able to work both independently and with a team, and prioritizes quality and customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Breakdown flowers off stem and stalk of plant in order to separate unusable waste from usable product. This includes identifying and separating fan leaves, stems and sugar leaves on the flower
- Sit or stand for long periods of time while focusing on detail-oriented trimming. Employee must be able to adapt to various strains, styles and types of marijuana they are trimming: adjusting their techniques to maintain a steady pace and quality
- Weighing and recording weights including green waste and using METRC as applicable
- Track the metrics for the trimming process
- Clean up all production areas and tools between strains and at the end of every shift
- Understand and follow all rules and regulations for harvest and inventory management including wet weight measurements, dry weight measurements, and harvest batch requirements as set out in the State of Michigan regulations
- Understand and follow all safety protocols, compliance and SOP’s. Help refine and develop SOPs through each stage of the post-harvest process.
- Follow all state regulations, SOPs, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties.
- Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A year of experience in cannabis cultivation is preferred, but not required
- The candidate should have a HS diploma or equivalent, a Bachelor’s degree with a focus on agriculture, manufacturing, crop management or business, and/or 1-2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
- A background in quality control is a plus.
- The ideal candidate is focused on quality, inventory organization and ability to monitor every stage of the post-harvest process and compliance.
- Key qualities this position includes computer skills including data entry, technically inclined, versatile, highly organized and detail oriented, problem solving and analysis skills.

This is a part or full time hourly position, followed by an annual performance review.
Qualifications:

· Ability to lift 65 pounds unassisted, crouch, bend, stoop, and crawl to maneuver between plants/cultivation equipment as well as stand for long periods of time
· Ability to work in an indoor cultivation warehouse, under controlled environmental conditions
· Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities, including the ability to work efficiently and accurately
· Basic math proficiency
· Ability to pass a state and federal background check, as well as a New Mexico Driver’s license
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Irrigating plants and helping lead growers with department needs
· Understanding plant pests and other perils, with a keen eye for spotting issues before they become a problem
· Ability to execute techniques consistently
· Knowledge of growing techniques, including: cloning, transplants, vegetation, and flowering
· Defoliating plants prior to harvest
· Washing pots, buckets, nutrient reservoirs, and other equipment
· Sanitizing rooms between harvests
· Record all data provided for each plant
· Cutting plants of secondary cannabis down from grow chamber
· Destemming secondary cannabis
· Maintaining organization and sanitation in the Post-Harvest department and the grow chambers
· Trash disposal
· Janitorial and organizational duties, as assigned and mandated by Standard Operating Procedures
· This may also include functions for other facets of the organization, as delegated by management
