Position Overview
The Lab Manager will be responsible for product development, oversee the extraction process and manage the laboratory team.
The Lab Manager is also responsible for direct oversight of the productivity, tracking and governmental compliance of all cannabis processing and packaging. Must be able to effectively direct, lead and schedule lab techs, kitchen staff and packaging associates. The Lab Manager will provide oversight of all labeling & tracking to ensure that the facility is compliant with OSHA, MED, Metrc and state regulations at all times. - Hire and manage all staff needed for the lab, kitchen and packaging departments
- Oversee the installation of AMP’s laboratory and ensure operational excellence
- Implement the state regulated compliance system METRC
- Effective supervision of facility staff using clear communication and frequent constructive feedback; display knowledge, leadership and guidance to all lab employees
- Understand and follow all safety protocols, compliance and SOPS
- Ensure labeling and tracking is executed properly and efficiently in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures & METRC Regulations
- Collaborate with the Cultivation Manager, Kitchen Manager & Dispensary Manager with the production and scheduling of all manufacturing duties, including planning from all harvests and post harvest processes.

Essential functions:
- Lead the quality and regulatory initiative to comply with State of Michigan Marijuana Regulatory Agency and Licensing and Regulatory Affairs rules and ISO 17025 guidelines.
- Coordinate all quality assurance (QA) activities for the laboratory including: defining and maintaining QA objectives and targets, proficiency testing, interpreting regulatory requirements for the department, and applying consistent regulatory standards throughout the laboratory departments.
- Oversee performance improvement plans and identify, develop and implement strategies that result in improvement of best lab utilization practice.

- Recommend corrective actions to address non-conforming practices, which are identified in audits and inspections. Monitor implementation of corrective actions.
- Review and revise QA documents.
- Verify analytical and regulatory requirements as needed to ensure that quality assurance documents and SOP's are in compliance with current regulations.
- Review pertinent publications to stay abreast of the regulatory and quality developments within clinical lab industry.
- Develop SOP formats and maintain control of documents.
- Provide training to site employees in Inspection Readiness activities and regulatory guidelines; provide new employee orientation to quality management processes.
- Assure method validation protocols, validation repots, test methods, general lab protocols and standard operating procedures are reviewed and updated to assure regulatory compliance.
- Assure proper qualification, maintenance and calibration of lab equipment and on-line test instruments. Perform regular internal quality audits, recommend changes, and initiate corrective or preventive action when appropriate.
- Responsible for various laboratory support activities, including but not limited to, consumable and sample inventory, record-keeping, sample disposal, and cleaning.
- Responsible for hazardous material handling, safety, training, and waste removal.
- Completes routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting on instruments and equipment.
- Performs other tasks as specified by the manager/director.

The Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical operations and ensuring the production of high quality cannabis extracts. This position is responsible for planning, overseeing, and directing all operations of the laboratory. Principal Duties
As the Program Manager, you will:
- Provide scientific leadership in cannabis sampling and analysis: maintain familiarity with new developments and best practices and provide appropriate recommendations to the department and laboratory division.
- Provide supervision of laboratory analysis of cannabis and cannabis containing products for the determination of cannabinoid composition and contaminant levels, including microbial contaminants, pesticide residues, mycotoxins, heavy metals, and residual solvents.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:

- Oversee all processes in the manufacture of hydrocarbon extracts (live resin/cured extracts & distillation)
- Create or revise SOP's for facility as needed
- Coordinate operations including, but not limited to; crew management, facility and equipment maintenance, inventory management of materials/chemicals/equipment/finished goods
- Assist in launching new products and maintaining efficient processes for successful projects.
- Ensure that production schedules are met within budgeting parameters
- Further develop and maintain extraction operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational policies and procedures
- Coordinate with other key stakeholders (sourcing, distribution, sales) to ensure a seamless production cycle and meet all internal company and customer quality standards throughout the product life.
- Creation and delivery of weekly reports on key performance metrics
- Maintain a 100% compliance standard in accordance with State & Local regulations
- Train personnel on product compliance, safety requirements, and proper execution of tasks per SOPs.
- Implement and maintain appropriate quality control processes and procedures to guarantee accuracy of analysis and quality of results.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
· Possession of a valid OLCC Marijuana Handlers permit
· Understanding of applied fluid and pressure dynamics
· Experience working with/on industrial machinery(centrifuges, vacuum distillers, conveyors, etc)
· Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission Recreational Marijuana Program; Oregon Health Authority, Oregon Department of Agriculture.
