Responsibilities/Duties:
- Analytical studies on a variety of issues in support of cannabis purchasing initiatives, trends, and programs; Identify critical areas of improvement by providing a well-documented and explained case
- Develop, review, and analyze departmental P&Ls in coordination with the appropriate managers; demonstrate appropriate understanding / working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
- Develop and manage buying and inventory management strategies; interpret, monitor, and analyze procurement data and financial information for reporting and procurement decision making ;
- Review and provide feedback regarding seasonality of products as well as performance at the category, strain, type, amount, etc level
- Build models to track and project key business metrics - unit costs, revenue per order, etc.
- You will be one of the primary point employees for Executive personnel; sharing results, making recommendations, and driving action to improve performance;
- Support executives with in-depth analysis related to costs, labor, margins and performance
- Consistently forecasts weekly and quarterly sales, labor and costs to optimize decision-making routines
- Support cross-functional projects within other departments and make recommendations grounded in research and rigorous modeling; monitor daily and weekly sales, purchase order activity, and incoming deliveries to best serve our inventory needs
- Partner with our sales team to gather/synthesize pertinent information in order to recommend promotional strategies for merchandise based on delivery dates, sales results, and planned product life span; this information is crucial to the executive personnel and will drive decisions regarding purchasing and best financial practices
- Maintain a pulse on market trends, build competitive intelligence, and identify best practices to ensure we are ahead of the curve
- Oversee and ensure correct data is being entered into Inventory Management system(s); collaborate to improve and manage checks and balances/SOP’s in the Inventory department
- Responsible for ensuring that inventory is received correctly and in a timely manner; optimize and help to make efficient processes for receiving products into Inventory Management system(s)
- Drive the development and enhancement of KPI reporting efforts; ensure accurate data collection while highlighting key insights to support executive decision making
- Be responsible for analyzing SKU-level sales performance, monitoring discontinued and credit SKU’s, forecasting inventory needs, and managing inventory purchases to optimize in-stock levels
- Using results of sales performance analysis and input from Intake, Operations, Finance, and Sales teams, develop inventory forecast and purchasing plans
- Review and monitor status of purchase orders by our leadership team and communicate cost and margin
- Complete additional ad-hoc sales performance and inventory analyses as needed
- Remain in compliance with all city and state regulations
Requirements:
-Experience and proven skills in data review and reporting
-Detail oriented, with ability to manage time and organize competing priorities
-Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions
-Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner; ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation
-Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with a broad range of professional and technical staff
-Proven ability to serve as a technical resource providing advice and counsel on business intelligence issues
-Maintain flexibility in a fluid environment as part of a team that is establishing new strategies and procedures
-Bachelor’s degree+ in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or Finance or other business related discipline
